Trust the Wind —
A Journey in Song

" …for you can trust the wind, breathe the air,
there's a place you're meant to be and you're already there,
open up your heart and let life in,
you know that you can always trust the wind."
(Trust the Wind, music and lyric by David Friedman)

Mark deVille Jobson presents Trust the Wind, to explore the journey of falling in love.

Beginning with the idea that trust is a good place to start – trust that when we open our hearts love and come and go freely, trust that love wants us to be exactly who we were born to be – the show moves from first meeting to falling in love to the inevitable doubts, questioning and fears (perfectly normal when it comes to living with an open heart) to at last deciding to trust in love, because it is a journey to be taken for sure.

Trust that love is our gift from Life, our inheritance really, to live a life with our hearts open and overflowing with love. The hour and fifteen minute long show features songs by various composers including David Friedman, Leonard Bernstein, Billy Joel, Harold Rome, Cole Porter, Kurt Weil, and Hoagy Carmichael.

Trust the Wind is a joy for me to perform, and I enjoy offering it as both an intimate cabaret show or a concert, depending upon where it is performed.   As long as there is a grand piano and a microphone, we have a show to bring you!  Some recent dates have included Mama Rose’s in New York City, The Gardenia Room in Los Angeles, The Mystic Note Cafe in Dallas, The Palmer House in Chicago, Adams Avenue Studio for the Arts in San Diego, Vanessie’s in Santa Fe, First Church Concert Series in Las Vegas and Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa.

“Cabaret is an intensely personal evening of song and stories, delivered in a simple, honest way in an intimate space that shatters the fourth wall. The audience participates in a direct, emotional conversation with the artist and leaves feeling contacted and personally touched.”

Recent reviews for Trust the Wind

“… let me repeat how I am just blown away by what an extraordinary voice … hope it won't be too long before an encore performance. Till then, I have his CDs to keep me warm. Bravo!”

“This show hit some deep cords for me, so thank you Mark, for that ... you don't know what good you are doing with your gift.”

“I wouldn't have missed this New York debut for anything.  Now I have bragging rights to say ‘I was at Mark deVille Jobson's New York City cabaret debut.’ Thank you for your performance. I have never seen Mark so free, so happy, so (seemingly) relaxed, so in charge, so spontaneous and open to the feelings of each moment, so personal.”
